In 1996, Chandler voters approved a half-cent sales tax dedicated to economic development. The Chandler ½ Cent Sales Tax Corporation was formally established in 1999, and in 2013, the name was updated to Chandler Economic Development Corporation (EDC) to better reflect our mission.
The EDC is governed by a seven-member Board of Directors and managed by an Executive Director appointed by the Board and approved by City Council.
Over the years, we have supported business retention and expansion, attracted new employers, improved local parks, established a memorial museum, and funded housing for seniors and residents with limited income.
Our goal is to strengthen the local economy, create jobs, and increase city revenue through sales and property taxes. We work to ensure Chandler remains a thriving, vibrant community for businesses and residents alike.
If you’re planning to expand your business or launch a new one, the Chandler EDC has the resources and experience to help you succeed.
