From supporting small business expansions to funding major community projects, our work touches every corner of the city.
Business Development & Commercial Projects
A thriving business community fuels Chandler’s economic growth and stability. The EDC partners with local entrepreneurs, property owners, and national brands to bring new businesses to town, help existing businesses expand, and improve commercial infrastructure.
- Assisted Ace Hardware in acquiring property and building a new 15,000 sq. ft. store
- Assisted Super Seven Exxon with a remodel and parking lot drainage improvements
- Assisted Bruce Tidwell in bringing an older building up to code and improving parking lot drainage
- Worked with Kidd-Jones to complete a new convenience store and Whataburger restaurant
- Worked with the City on the Brookshire’s land acquisition to facilitate the remodel, store expansion, and new Brookshire’s Gas Station
- $6,908.50 grant to Mark Hall for driveway improvements
- $25,000 grant for Main Street Market
- $25,000 grant for Lake Palestine Gateway RV Park
- $30,000 grant for Chandler Country Store
- $35,000 grant for Nettie’s
- Set aside $200,000 for a future hotel
Parks & Recreation Improvements
Chandler’s city parks are central to our community’s health and strong connections. We’ve invested in upgrades and amenities that make our parks more welcoming, functional, and accessible for all ages.
- Used the design-build process to construct a new 7,500 sq. ft. pavilion at Winchester Park with restrooms and a concession area
- Provided funds to complete Baseball Field #5 at Winchester Park and install electrical service for lighting
- Provided funds for electrical service for the new pavilion at Winchester Park and lighting for a future Splash Park
- Provided funds for pavilion tables and handicap access at Winchester Park
- Provided funds for grant match for playground covers and lighting
- Completed a new parking lot and fence at River Park
- $19,500 Winchester Park road project
Community & Tourism Initiatives
We believe in creating events and attractions that make Chandler the destination. Our support for local tourism and community initiatives helps preserve our heritage, promote our city, and welcome visitors who contribute to our local economy.
Assisted the City and Historical Society in completing the Museum & Visitor Center at McCain Park
Assisted BMC Youth Organization with hosting the girls’ state softball tournament
